ALLIANCE ACTIVITIES DRAW WIDESPREAD INTEREST ACROSS TEXAS
The Public Employee Benefits Alliance (PEBA) was created by a group of Texas Governmental leaders working together to develop strategies to manage the rising cost of healthcare benefits. PEBA operates pursuant to Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter of Chapter 271 of the Texas Local Government Code. PEBA is organized to achieve economies of scale for the alliance of Political Subdivision in the State of Texas.
PEBA was formed by a group of public entities seeking sustainable benefit plans, designed for public entity employers. To date, PEBA has awarded 12 product proposals.
PEBA Members
As of September 2011, PEBA's membership has two Pools—TML Intergovernmental Employee Benefits Pool (TML IEBP) and Texas Association of Counties Health Benefit Pool (TAC HEBP)—and 71 individual employer groups that represent over 150,000 lives.
TML IEBP and the TAC HEBP are charter members of PEBA. If you are members of one of these pools, you are automatically a member of PEBA. Contact your Pool representative for more information.
